literally in the school of hard knocks as a door to door salesman. Selected
as a college freshman, Alecia sold educational books door to door for five
summers, paying her way through college in the Southwestern Summer Work

training and managing teams of students at the ripe old age of 19.
She would go on to become a top experienced sales person as well as a top manager, making over 15,000 cold calls as well as interviewing and training hundreds of students over her 5 years with Southwestern.
After Southwestern, Alecia took her turn at inside sales and eventually found her way to another training company, selling, developing and delivering programs on high performance to hundreds and hundreds of people. Eventually founding MAVERICK & COMPANY, Alecia now works with entrepreneurs, executives and a wide range and variety of organizations, helping them spend more time kicking butt and less time getting their butt kicked. of music b.sous is in which i kind of shrug my shoulders and say, "cute kind of
music?". The truth is, I don't know how I would describe our music. It's fun and
simple and takes me back to the days of growing up...loving musicals
(mostly the Sound of Music, Annie, Grease 2, yep, more than Grease1 and lately
Chicago), singing in Girls Ensemble at Trails West Elementary School performing
at the mall and nursing homes all around the Aurora area, taking piano lessons,
playing the clarinet, and organizing the neighborhood girls to do a sing and
dance combo on our street.
I am so lucky to play with such talented musicians mostly from the punk rock/rock genres... The boys help me bring silly songs I make up in the shower or songs that I hear in my dreams or write while on a train traveling and bring them to life.

Blending alt-country, pop and folk with an ease that defies cliché,
singer-songwriter Charlene Johnson's "View From My Room" is a 10-song disc that
richly explores love, loss and anger in lyrical and musical layers almost as
large as life itself.
The marriage between Charlene's unique voice with its lyrical twang and Greg Johnson's acoustic/electric guitar strums, takes you on a journey that is honest, heartfelt and tinged with an edge of anger. The music itself blends folk, alt.country, pop and rock elements in the sonic territory positioned between Shawn Colvin and Jewel.

If you're new to Denver, it may take a second or two to figure out that
5280 takes its name from the city's mile-high elevation. Five-thousand, two-hundred
and eighty feet above sea level. It's an unusual name for an out-of-the ordinary
magazine. We began 5280 in 1993 with the simple but unprecedented step of asking
75,000 area residents what they wanted to read about in a magazine about the Mile-High
City. Denver's people are no less eclectic. In responding to our survey, they
enthusiastically shared their interests in everything from the arts to the
environment, and from fitness to historical articles on Denver and the West.
We took their answers and translated them into a combination of high-quality
journalism and eye-catching graphic design. The result was a new magazine that
captured Denver's unique voice like never before! For more information, please

Her efforts within the city and beyond have already earned her the recognition and appreciation of others in the creative world. In 2005, Brandi received the Mastermind Award from Denver’s influential alternative weekly publication, Westword. She’s also been heralded as one of the "Top 40 Under 40" by the Denver Business Journal, and was declared 5280 Magazine’s "Up and Comer of the Year" in 2001.
Inspired by the Fashion Co-Op and WearHaus events in Southern California, Brandi decided to bring her expertise and passion to the burgeoning fashion community to her home of Denver. Today, she works with a variety of boutiques, artists and independent designers in an effort to both help grow their individual businesses as well as build the community.

The Prudential Denver office is aggressively seeking entrepreneurial-minded women to join our team. Prudential proudly maintains an inclusive environment that encourages the success and development of all of its people. Making a commitment or a claim is admirable; however, the most telling way an organization "speaks" of the value it places on women and minorities and of its commitment to their success is through data that shows access to opportunity.
The following 2008 statistics demonstrate our commitment to women:
- 55% overall representation of women
- 59% of all promotions went to women
- 46% of all new hires were women, 44% of those in management were women
- 31% of our top earners (top 10%) were women
- Three of ten (30%) of the Chairman and CEO's direct reports were women
- Five women were promoted to corporate executive positions

Just 15 minutes from Downtown Denver and 15 minutes to Denver International Airport, Stapleton's 4,700 acres will set a new standard for urban living: a new generation of neighborhoods that 30,000 residents and 35,000 workers can call home.
One of the greatest challenges involved in the redevelopment of Stapleton has been the need for Forest City to coordinate and implement a range of development activities that are nearly unprecedented in their scope, due to the ambitious nature of this, one of the largest urban redevelopments in the nation. Forest City has coordinated the work of ten single family builders we selected to create housing that meets high standards for urban design and energy efficiency, while also being affordable to a wide range of incomes, including housing for "workforce" households that make 80% or less of the Area Median Income.
At the same time, we are developing regional and neighborhood retail centers that are pedestrian-friendly and provide a diversity of opportunities for a variety of retailers, including small, minority and woman-owned businesses. And, we are managing the construction of $600 million in infrastructure and the development of more than 1,100 acres of new parks and open space on behalf of the Park Creek Metropolitan District.
